About Us
Rotary is an international organisation of 1.4 million volunteers who want to help others.
Over the years Takapuna Rotary members have made huge differences in many areas of endeavour that have enabled people in our local communities, in New Zealand, even all around the world to live as happier, better citizens in more peaceful environments.
Our club was established in 1953 and our membership represents a wide cross section of Takapuna's business, family and retired men and women. Our members follow Rotary’s mantra of ‘Service Above Self’, giving their time, talents and ‘treasure’ to bring about positive change.
Takapuna Rotary is different to other Rotary Clubs we embrace and test new ideas without fear of failure. We have a wide range of members (from 25 - 65+) whom all bring passion and energy to our club. We continue to meet weekly, have inspiring guest speakers and exciting projects. One of my favourite things about Rotary is the ability to serve in areas close to your heart, such as my contribution to ROMAC.
Everyone should be invited to come and join the combined forces of Rotary where there are no boundaries caused by religion, race, politics or culture,
Jenn McKenzie
District Governor Nominee
Brand Manager Lion Breweries
I come from a strong Rotary family and am proud to be serving the local Takapuna community with such a vibrant club.
Takapuna Rotary embraces innovative thinking and combines community service. We aim to make a difference in our community through service, fellowship and hands-on projects.
Marilyn Glover

Retired.
As one of the longest club members (Marilyn joined Rotary in 1966), I really love what our club has evolved into.
It is always fun, inclusive and best of all continues to do a wonderful job of helping those in the world around us, such as my personal favourite, Wilson School for Disabled and Special need children,

When my grandfather first took me along to a Rotary dinner at age 7, who knew that one day I would be here myself, leading and loving Rotary..
This organisation provides the most thrilling personal development opportunities that as a young professional I am relishing.
As a business owner, I find the networking valuable; whilst as a young mum, I find the friendships and community connection invigorating also.
